Conserving Laverstock's water meadows and chalk stream habitats

What we do

We are a friendly group of volunteers who own and manage around 60 acres of Laverstock water meadows to the east of Salisbury. This peaceful wildlife haven is home to wildflowers, birdlife and an abundance of insect life. If you would like to join us for a Saturday morning work party or two, please drop us a line.

Creating opportunities to spend time with nature

Peaceful access to the countryside is ever more important for our well-being. As we attract wildlife back on to the water-meadows we are installing access infrastructure including simple rustic benches, access gates between fields. noticeboards and attractive signs. Wellies are essential and a camera to record the natural beauty you will witness is recommended.

City To Countryside Dog Trails Project

Our City to Countryside Dog Trails Leaflet funded by the Wiltshire Council Salisbury City Area Board is now available as a download below.

We have also completed the second City to Countryside Dog Trails project to develop welcoming and informative site information on the watermeadows funded by Wiltshire Council Southern Area Board.

Dog owners are very welcome to exercise their pets in designated areas and trails we are establishing on the watermeadows. Please keep dogs under close control and remove dog litter.

This year we have increased the area of the watermeadows available for dog walkers. We will be further increasing the area of watermeadows available to dog walkers and other visitors over the next few weeks and months.

We are also encouraging the establishment of more dog-friendly places in the City and countryside of Salisbury and South Wiltshire through our Dog Trails Project
